NAS timeouts

Postby Sardonicus » 6th Mar, '10, 23:26

I have a lot of data to move around from various discs to my wireless NAS. I use Teracopy, but still get timed out a lot. (Not because of this but) I've moved my NAS, modem and wireless router closer to my PC lately but this doesn't seem to help.

Any ideas? I have D-Link 323. Wish it had a USB for copying...

No idea sorry. For large scale file transferring I'd always try to plug a cable in.

I need to dig out the manual, there's got to be a way to do that. The USB It does have is for back up, their Support Team said it couldn't be used for f/t.

Didn't think the 323 was wireless? Do you have a wireless USB adaptor plugged into it, or is the "wireless" connection between your PC and the router, with a cable from the router to the 323?

Either way, your best move would be to use an ethernet cable from the PC to the router and another ethernet cable from the router to the 323.

The 323 is connected by wire to your router. Connect your pc to your router and you'll have a much quicker file transfer system.
