That's a cool photo collection, and very detailed. It should really be called "Evolution of the Mobile Phone in Japan", though. Their models and tastes were and are still pretty different from the RoW. For instance, you can see that for much of the 200x's, it's all "clamshell" type phones - which is almost all you saw there then (and you still see a lot) when they weren't that popular elsewhere. Note there are few of the wildly popular Nokia's which we saw here and elsewhere in Asia - for whatever reason they never hit big there. But, this is done by Docomo so it's understandable that it has a Japanese perspective.

03-07 made the transition period made the overall image really interesting.
Of course, I love the order put to that presentaion :)
