I know that my local the Dubliner has that channel .

Yes England were crap yesterday , I cant see the point of constantly kicking away possession for no useful result.

Well, after two rounds I'm left with the question, who's going to beat the French? Neither England (who play France in Paris) nor Wales seem likely, and Scotland and Ireland have tried and failed. Italy anyone?

As useless as the England team really! Impotent to take on the Italians....separated by a try and really, didn't make anything of the breaks they did have.

I wish Starhub hadnt shown the game. just endless wasted long kicks down the field even when the Italians were down to 14.

The English are keeping their heads down too. We still need them to beat the French though, so we don't want them to be too depressed.

We played shit. Again. Fodden looked like he had some spark, but if the only problem was Armitage then surely the other 14 players could have done something earlier?

Danny Care....time to move over. Some good scrum-halves coming through, he's just not got the temperment that is required at International level.

Ireland, showed good work in making the tries count, but they had so little ball that a slightly better team would have beaten them. Hell, England nearly did, and they are shit at the mo. Must say that any team that can be nearly beaten by us needs to have a good look at themselves.

Italy: did what they did best, pulled the other team down to their level, and played them for it. Well done agains the sweaties.

France Wales - again, Wales left it too late to get into the game. I can't remember the last time Wales didn't have to make a come back. Didn't see the game as it was on at a-stupid o'clock. So can't comment on either teams capabilities.

Scotland then France, both away for us. Could be interesting indeed.

I watched all the S14 games and the 6 nations matches at the weekend. Talk about a difference in entertainment.

Yup, full stadia in cold, northern hemisphere places where rugby is the 2nd or lower sport, half-empty stadia across the southern hemisphere during beautiful sunny days and where rugby (at least in NZ) is the number one sport.

Go figure.....

As long as you celts keep thinking that then you'll never do better than beating an ordinary side.

Beating South Africa is merely icing. In the grand scheme of things the Irish couldn't care less about beating Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. Even France. But the happiness factor goes up about ten notches for the year, knowing we've beaten the English.

If you think the quality of a game like the England v Ireland match was anything like Tah v Bulls, you really need to take your blinkers off.

As for the crowds, you are comparing internationals to provincial games -- as you well know.

Shame, really. Ireland have a lot of talent, proven with last years Grand Slam. Shame they can't really reproduce it this year. Wales were the same a couple of years ago.

Until you start getting to the semi finals of the RWC on a regular basis, and not being knocked out in the pool stages, then you'll only have "beating England" as your goals. Poor goals indeed.

Exactly, it's an international. Who cares about the quality? They could all have been standing still for 79 minutes as long as we rob England of victory in the 80th that's unbeatable entertainment.

Provincial games are different of course. You wouldn't watch them unless they were entertaining. They aren't on free to air here, so I can't watch the S14 this year.

I'm sure the team want to win world cups. The public have a different attitude. We're all perfectly aware that we're a small nation where rugby comes in importance behind soccer, Gaelic and hurling. Whacking a nation which considers rugby its second sport, is five times bigger and has oppressed our Island for 600 years is not something you can buy in the shops.

PS I notice that an Irishman had to save "England" from the ignominy of losing to Bangladesh at cricket yesterday.

And you wonder why the problems in Northern Ireland took so long to sort out (and are probably not properly sorted out anyhow)? Get over it Celts. That's the sort of stuff Mugabe comes out with!

Actually rugby was one of the ways out of the mess Northern Ireland was in. One team for the whole country, and beating the English at sport instead of shooting them.

Another appalling Welsh performance, a team going nowhere. Actually, I lie - Wales are going somewhere and it's backwards!

Fighting it out with Italy for the wooden spoon next weekend is not an appealing prospect.
