i discovered this morning that my neighbor's mom ,who lived in the house, passed away.
i have only met them once at chinese new year visit.
what is the custom with deaths here. so they have people around, just family, should i fix some food to take.

hi Suissemom,

will they be having a wake at the house? if so, then you can go over and pay your respects during the wake. as many houses in Singapore are too small to host a wake, they may have it at a funeral home instead.

no need to bring food, but a condolence card would probably be appreciated. close friends and relatives sometimes include cash in the card to 'help offset the funeral costs', but as you are not very close to them, you are not expected to do so.
