Got the BBC on while catching up on some stuff - happily back in part of the word with english television and internet access of some description.

so rant #1 I am sick and tired of them going on in the and on in their ads news about what it means that the first woman ever might get best director for an Oscar. Firstly in this day and age it should have f'ck all to do with anything and the only relevant point is competency of winner, and should BBC know better. (that said, it actually surprises me somewhat that it's still a case that that not a single woman won to date, what's that about in the year 2010 people...girls even win Nobel prizes in the sciences these days...)

so rant #2 the constant break in the sound transmission, I presume due to the minute+ censorship here is doing my frigg'n head in, missing ~ every 10th to 15th word.
