Just bought....

Post by Fat Bob » 18th Feb, '12, 16:04

A Denon AVR-1912 and a EnGenius ESR9850. Why, you may ask?

The NAD T752 AV receiver was having problems, channels cutting out all the time, and wanted to upgrade so I can get HDMI into the AV recevier and a single wire from receiver to TV. That took less than an hour to hook up. Changing the Logitech 885 Univeral REmote took abother 20 mins.

The Engenius ESR9850 has been set up as a Wireless Bridge - again, what is this and why have I done it? Means the receiver (and other items sitting under the TV) can connect to a internet and my home network without having wires everywhere. And why? Currently streaming music from iTunes on my laptop to the Denon with no wires! YAY!! Music sounds fantastic indeed! Took a total of an hour.

Denon AVR1912 - SGD810+ CC charge
EnGenius ESR9850 - SGD90.

Happy boy. Let's hope I do get a bonus next month!

Would have meant time with the children of the Devil. And possibly even photos posted on facebook and where ever else. No thanks.

Feel free to post them on Google+ though, no one looks at that!

Actually, you would have been the perfect addition to their latest video.

So after spending a small fortune to repair my B&W 805 signatures, my Arcam AVR300 decides to stop processing digital audio. Apparently this is a known problem with this and other Arcam models. I'm really reluctant to buy something inferior to the Arcam, which produces beautiful sound for both music and movies. Any recommendations for a similar sounding Amp which doesn't cost and arm and a leg?

FB are you happy with the Denon?

I've had yamahas, pioneers and Denons. I've decided denon is the way to go. I currently have a 3311 and a 1610. Can't fault either at their price bracket.

We have a Denon -- noticeably sounds better than the Sony it replaced.

Happy indeed with the Denon. Sounds as good as the faulty NAD it replaced. User interface could be better, but you can say that about a lot of things.
