Re: is demonoid down for you?
I've pretty much given up on torrents. NZB is the way for me. I fall back to a couple of torrent sites for some very local hard to get shows but that's about it.
So…if you wish to wish a wish, you may swish for fish with my Ish wish dish.

NZB? This is new to me! How does it work? Any sites you would recommend?

I pay about US9 a month for everything. You need a news group service to subscribe too and an indexing site would be handy too.
I then use a couple of programs like sabnzbd (The Downloading Engine) and sickbeard (TV Shows) (coach potato (Movies) as well).
It's setup so my config knows what TV shows I am interested in. It then knows when episode will be released, goes looking for them, downloads them (I choose HD so it only downloads HD versions), unpacks them, renames them to the format I want, moves them to the directory on the NAS I want so that I can watch it from the TVs.
Oh, it also sends me a tweet telling me the episode is now ready to watch.
Once configured it's super simple. The only time I need to touch it is when I want to add a new TV show. It uses SSL encryption so it's pretty secure.

Sweet! Thanks, all!
Re: is demonoid down for you?
Baloo which part of your solution requires payment? The 2 apps you mentioned are free.
The problem I saw with usenet previously was that there were multiple releases of the same item of varying encoding quality (and some just rubbish). How do you make sure you get a decent copy? I'm still using TPB for torrents and RSS to automate downloads. With RSS I can setup my rules to only download from specific (trusted) uploaders (eg ettv or eztv).

Subscription to the Usenet server (I use supernews) is a monthly sum. There was also a one-off subscription to the indexing site. (nzbmatrix.com)
There are free alternatives but reliability is an issue.
As far as quality is concerned SickBeard knows what quality I am after and will only download anything that matches my settings. Also, being a subscription service you don't have much junk there. I don't really remember getting anything that was of a quality that was not advertised. Movies can be a bit different as every man and his dog rushes to release a copy out there first. I just read the comments to get a feel of it's a worthwhile copy or not. In saying that, I've never downloaded a CAM or TS release as I prefer to wait until I get something better.
I still use torrents for some Aussie and japanese stuff. I have Flexget setup to manage those downloads.

It's back!! Under a new name (D2). Those of you who were members should get an email with the details.
I didn't have any luck logging in however. Anyone else successful?
