i just bought the books on my amazon.co.uk account paid for on my singapore credit card.

Cool. Well, off to the US in Feb, might get it as a birthday present to myself.

The nice thing about it is space saving and a massive battery life. The experince of using it is very similar to reading a book

note although it is a one trick pony but i can also do basic web surfing .

I love my Kindle. Just spent the day reading - bliss.

Oooh, I'm thinking Christmas present to self.

Will need a reward for spending the festive season with the Plaid Cymru hillbillies ;)

I thought about a Kindle, borrowed one from a friend, borrowed a Nook and tried it out, then bought the Sony.

I like the Sony more - it's not tied to a specific content source and supports more standards, meaning there's lots of 'free' (if you get my meaning) content for it. No wireless (meaning longer battery life) is not an issue to me. It holds 1200 books plus it has an SD slot if that's not enough. And it looks and feels much better - less plasticky - than the others.

The Barnes & Noble Nook is clever and definitely worth checking out, about the same price range as Kindle, but more 'open'.

I like books. And I think, of all the media formats, books will still be there in the end.

I like books, too. I have 3 here with me, but it's handy to have more electronically as well.

Books are also the hardest type of media to convert from analogue to digital format. It's easier to buy the ebook than it is to scan 400 pages.
