Re: World Cup
now the octopus has been offered state protection by spain hahaha
silliness. but isn't it kind of cool in this old war mongering world, the plight of an octopus can be top level news above it all lol

Re: World Cup
OK, so who is going to win ?
I'd like Holland to win but if I had to put money on it, I'd say Spain will walk away with the prize.

Re: World Cup
Surely the question is whether the psychic octopus has made his prediction yet?
Anyway, I'll go with Espana 'cos I have a bet with a work colleague and I need it to be so.

The octo says that Spain is gonna win. Just read somewhere that he won't survive until the next EC or WC... old age will get him if it's not the pan before thatdaffodil wrote:Surely the question is whether the psychic octopus has made his prediction yet?

Re: World Cup
I really, really want the Netherlands to win, but my pick in the home bets way back before it all started was Spain...so my heart says Netherlands but my pockets say Spain!

Not a nice game to watch as the Dutch kung-fu fighters overdid it a bit but Spain deserved it (afterall they beat the best team in the semis )

Re: World Cup
Useless world cup fact.
New Zealand were the only team who didn't lose a match in this world cup.

It may be useless, but I reckon NZ will be subtly reminding the Aussies of it for a long time.

Re: World Cup
shocking game, in the end i was hoping Spain would win. shameful performance by what was for all intents and purposes a gang of football thugs.
the Dutch should have had 2 red cards in the first half already.
