It would be cheaper to reconnect the satellite TV for a couple of months. Any other suggestions? Is there some proxy site I can use?

I suppose I could get my parents to play the radio over skype.

Try http://www.anonymous-proxies.org/

They have a section for watching on iPlayer while abroad, but I can't access it from work.

Let us know how you get on.

Get a fake Chinese iPhone ($40). Already known as the slant-IPhone.

There again, I did hear that West Ham are playing Burnley, hence the lack of effort anyone would want to go to get the rugby on live.

Silky shirted, shandy swilling bastards.
that also applies to rugby players these days

I'll have to study that up. I see they have a ten day free trial so I think I'll wait for the second match. Pretty sure Ireland can beat Italy without my help.

The most irritating thing about this business is that there is no way to find out who has the rights to broadcast internationally. At least I haven't found a way yet. The BBC sure as hell don't tell you.
No idea. However, things like IP address configs may work, or the various things up above.

Also, try getting in touch with your local sattelite opperator, do they carry Setanta. you could actually watch moving images then!

Minty: I've no problem paying $25/month if they show rugby. Wen they initially said they weren't then I'm willing to force them to close it down immediately. They always say "can not" but oh yes they can.

Economising this year as I get my business going. Satellite TV is a rip off. I'm happy with radio. In fact I prefer radio for cricket.

So, is this like those group games where the winner will progress to the big leagues and play SA, NZ or Oz?

Riveting games so far . . . well, games so far.

A few good breaks though, roberts and hook both had breaks which led to tries, as did Tait (leading to Haskell's 2nd try) and I seem to remember the build up to Care's try was nice. OK, not 80 mins of pure pleasure, but certainly enough to be heartened.

A few too many mistakes from both sides, Jones needs shooting for that act of stupidity right in front of the ref, and will be interesting to see what can be taken forward.

Having not found any of the matches on TV here in Thailand - at least we have tried all the Sports channels - and we don't get SuperSports or whatever it's called, Mr D has made a major breakthrough and just found that all the French matches  are being shown on TV Monde Ch 5 which we can get. So will be okay for the March 20th match France v England. That'll be a novelty watching it with French commentary - he he -sacre bleu!!

Working on the same theory, does anyone know the names of any Italian TV stations that broadcast on StarHub? I'm guessing we might be able to pick that up but so difficult trying to guess the channel when you've got a million of them (or thereabouts) to search through. Cheers.

Doesn't the Aussie bar (and maybe a couple of others like the Irish bar in Karon) show them? Well, I'm presuming you're in Phuket still.

The Wales v Scots game was a blinder , though I would be gutted if I was Scottish.

Ya there's probably a couple of options not so far away in Rawai but I prefer to watch rugby without being deafened by firecrackers at the same time TBH... and.... everywhere will be chockfull of the dreamy valentine crowd [smilie=boohoo.gif] Valentines Day and Chinese New Year all in one - yeeeech time to stop in if possible.

Found out that if the games are on Ch 22, Super Sports, you can get to watch it in pubs in Singapore. If it's on 21, SuperSports Plus, then they don't get that feed. Starhub are pretty much useless.

As useless as the England team really! Impotent to take on the Italians....separated by a try and really, didn't make anything of the breaks they did have.
