Re: TV to watch
Cable has got "slightly" better. There are now shows on BBC Entertainment, Scifi, AXN which are watchable. But all quite old. If you have other options to acquire the shows, that might piss you off less!

Watched the pilot and not sharing your enthusiasm as yet Fuzz.Fuzz wrote:Just watched the pilot episode of a new series by JJ Abrams (Lost, Alias) called Fringe - I enjoyed the pilot episode a lot! It's a mixture of detective whodunit with X-Files. I'm sure that there will be some twists and turns as well in the future, knowing that Abrams is behind this series. As a side note, the main actress as well as the guy playing the slightly kooky scientist, Walter Noble are all Aussies.
A lot of articles mention that it's a mix of The X-Files, The Twilight Zone, and Altered States. Can't wait to see the next episode!
The pilot is about a plane from Hamburg to the Logan Airport, where all of the passengers liquify mid-air.
Found myself in rolling eyes mode at times as the co-incidences and silliness mounted - the transference of memories scene made me laugh out loud! The acting is pretty woeful, with the exception of the FBI babe - a blonde Jenifer Garner?
The ending and conspiracy teaser is just enough to give the 2nd episode a look and hopefully it will tighten up from here.

Thank you Jedi, didn't know it had started. Good episode. Let's hope the next few will live up to it.

Sons of Anarchy may be most popular new TV show here but probably will have to get off NET
doubt they' will show it in Singapore . Interesting new concept its also being shown on more that one cable network, working very well.

The Wire started last night on HBO (Channel 66). It is a very, very good series. I've seen all four. Very gritty.

The Wire wrapped up here last year
By far the best & unfortunately on of the most realistic series ever to grace the small screen.
(yes the US urban areas are really that bad)
Will miss it greatly

He is? Watched it last night and couldn't work out if he was supposed to be American or Irish, as his accent seemed to change depending on who he was talking to.Fuzz wrote:Just watched the pilot episode of a new series by JJ Abrams (Lost, Alias) called Fringe... Didn't do a lot for me, but then not really my thing. I think Neo liked it, but then it's definitely his thing.
(Are the Aussies taking over Hollywood? This show was followed by The Mentalist, starring that rather nice blond chap.)

Re: TV to watch
For those that don't know, the BBC TV series Spooks is in it's 7th series. Just watched the first episode, excellent stuff. Just as good as previous series, with what seems to be like last season where they focus on one side with some side-track bits. Looks good indeed....
It's a recomendation from Fat Bob!

Complete series (each is about 15 hours of TV) of X Files on sale here for 26$ each in Big W. Pretty good value if you like that sort of thing.

Re: TV to watch
Weeds is excellent, I have series 1 and 3 for some reason not 2.
Have just had a power session watching This Life series 1&2 (borrowed virgin copy) :D, what a brilliant show that was, loved it, want another one like that to show up!

Re: TV to watch
Has anyone else seen the ads on BBC Entertainment for a system where you sign up and review the programmes online?
Perhaps, if enough of us tell them how showing the same programmes in the same order for 3 years constitutes cr*p TV, they may change....
....now if they did chane within 34 wake-ups, what a scrumptious Chrimble pressy that would be...
