Re: Solo, Indonesia
Why, eat of course. Solo has some fantastic food, such as Timlo (a clear soup, similar to soto) and Srabi (pancakes made mostly of coconut milk, with a bit of rice flour as thickener. Srabi can be served plain, or with toppings such as sliced banana, chopped jackfruit, chocolate sprinkle (muisjes), or cheese.
Nasi liwet (coconut rice) is also quite popular.
Other places to visit:
1) TRIWINDU, antique market.
2) Kraton KASUNANAN, the java palace
3) Kraton Mangkunegaran, the palace
4) KLEWER Market, the Batik flea market.
5) Pasar Gede, traditional market.
6) Kampung Laweyan, the Batik central district from early 1900.

Re: Solo, Indonesia
it's a bit of a drive, but how about a visit to Borobudur and Prambranan
