Dusit Laguna Hotel Phuket

Has anyone stayed there ? Thoughts?

It's on top of my list because of the baby sitting services but if anyone knows of any other place that offers baby sitting, let me know.

Funny you should say that. Our other option is too call in the bet you lost and you get to look after BBIII for a few days :) But I think we'll wait until he can inflict maximum damage before calling in the bet.

Have stayed at Laguna Beach lots of times (pre mini-Scummy) and I think I've eaten at the Italian at Dusit Laguna, nice but dear.

There's a little village at the entrance to the Laguna. Nice restaurants there: (1) Tatonka, run by Harold a German who used to be Chef at Dusit. Very nice food and atmosphere (although we're starting to get a bit sick of just because the menu hasn't changed (2) Toto Italian, nice "family style" Italian, (3) Siam supper club, nice food but odd/cold atmosphere we find. If you call, they'll all come and pick you up and take you back. Also there's a Thai restaurant on the beach called Lotus (if you imagine going to the beach, turn right, keep going) which is universally aknowledged to be the best.

Tip: don't know how old your littl'un is, but if high chair age we found that all the high-chars in Phuket were lethal (like bar stools with no harness/front bar). We took an inflatable booster seat which we used to tie him on, which worked well.

Have fun. When are you going?

Your family still banned from returning then?
"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

I just compared prices between Bintan and Phuket. I can't believe how expensive Bintan is in comparison....
