One celebrated his 17th birthday the day before, another was getting married in December, another was about to become a father…..
Life is so unpredictable that those of us who don’t know them personally, while feeling sad for both the men and those left with memories, can take a life lesson from it. Don’t sweat the small stuff, don’t always take the sensible road and remember to stop to smell the roses occasionally.

News like this would hardly be news in China (thousands of mine deaths per year), but in NZ, with much more strict safety rules, it's a quote a shock. Not all mine incidents have happy endings like in Chile, in fact that was probably the exception. Sad.
