I know it was released last year but I have just seen

HURT LOCKER

a really good film based around an army bomb disposal team in Iraq.

9/10

Watched it yesterday - the scene towards the end in the supermarket is brilliant and paints the picture for so many returning from these wars. Years ago, back in Aus, I was at a favorite cafe near the beach and a soldier was having a coffee; a soldier who had just literally come back from Dili and seen some very messed up stuff. One minute he is walking into a room holding a rifle seeing messed up bodies and in literally a matter of a day, he is having a peaceful coffee by the beach in Sydney. Dili was certainly no Iraq, but the experience shared by servicemen and women makes it very hard for so many to reintegrate.

As for the rest of the film – I though it came out in late 2008. It deserves to win awards.
