Afghan Star

Post by skank-la » 26th Mar, '10, 05:10

Afghanistan's American Idol.

I loved this flick on so many levels.

My days in Afghanistan date back to the late 70's (Now called the 'Golden Era' before the Soviets invaded)
Some footage of those old days in this film too. When women weren't covered & music & arts actually were everywhere.

Also lots of footage of Afghanistan today including present day Herat where I resided for a quite a time. It seems rebuilt after the 'total destruction' during the Russian occupation

A tale of the human spirit. Do the Taliban really believe we can live w/o music.

Maybe FM can offer us some on the scene anecdotes about how this show affected Afghanistan

A Must See

I try to take one day at a time but sometimes several days attack me at once!
