Jo Nesbo

Thought would mention his books. Misguided by the bookshop lady I started at the second in series of the available translations from the Harry Hole Series. So missed The Redbest, and started at Nemesis to just finished The Snowman. I've liked them. It pisses me off the way the english translations keep referring to him as the next Stieg Larsson because he's not and he's a decidedly different author, the sales ploy annoys me. That said if you did enjoy the Dragon Tattoo series by Larsson, expect you'll like these too, mainly for the dry blunt nature of the characters is my take. He's not afraid to knock of main characters :D and it's a detective series, which I always enjoy getting into (And for you Jasper Fforde types, yes he does use the standard alcoholic disfunctional detective plot device....)

If you're in airport bookshop, and see the earlier ones, pick one up and try.

From Wiki,

2007 – Snømannen; English translation by Don Bartlett: The Snowman (2010)
2009 – Panserhjerte; English translation by Don Bartlett: The Leopard (2011)
2011 – The next book in the series—Gjenferd (tentative English title: The Phantom)—is set to be released in Norway on 9 June 2011.[3]

The Snowman? I wouldn't be able to read that without "walking in the the air" ear wigging me every 5 mins!
