Picotin

Restaurant on Turf Club Road offering simple bistro stye food, decent wine list and good service. There is also a deli on the site .

Had a lovely lunch there on Sunday - quite extensive menu which the staff are happy to mix and match. Run by Jacky Stevens (ex L'estaminet and numerous other Singapore establishments !) so a warm welcome is assured! Lots of families eating outside so may want to eat inside if kid-adverse, although that may be different at dinner.

Highly recommended.

Edit : Sebastien (ex Sebastiens) is also one of the hosts / owners.

We had dinner there on Sunday evening with the small slinkies - it was very nice & I'm sure we'll go back. I'd like to try their breakfast - looks yummy!

Canuck, I also thought it sounded pharmaceutical.
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

Yes, being int he review section of Restaurants, Bars and Nightclubs, I can understand why you thought it was pharmaceutical or such like!

Pictotin is a great place, good for showing rugby, pizzas are top quality and even had a good NYE in there. All encompassed with a load of booze, including London Pride, nitrogen-pumped though it is.

I like the bar and it is a great place of a pizza etc. However, I still have the feeling that they don't know what they want to be. On one hand there is the sport showing, family friendly beer and pizza place and on the other the somewhat upmarket (but not all that good) French side to the menu.

Is French food ever "all that good"?

For French food try Au Petit Salut at Dempsey Road. Yum!

Edit : Yes, I did rather a lot of eating and drinking in the last week [smilie=yahoo.gif]
