At last! A real breakfast place!!

Post by Aliya » 6th Apr, '08, 13:05

Canopy, garden dining, 1382 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1, Bishan Park II, telephone: 6556-1533

Went to a new place today - 120 points out of 100! A sort of an Halia type cafe, half inside half outside.

It has real Eggs Benedict and other REAL breakfast stuff, the coffee is to die for and everything about it is perfik. I couldnt find a better place in my old stomping ground in Ponsonby, Auckland which was the cafe street - this is the ultimate cafe breakfast in Singapore.

It is in the middle of Bishan Park II is owned by an Australian couple, the main part is abig airconditioned rectangualr inside part that has all glass walls so you feel like you are in the park, the other half is outside under huge umbrellas - lots and lots of lovely big tables, lots of outdoor seating and they are just expanding for more and putting a trendy and safe kids playground in, they have 3 kids so are very into having a place for kids so parents can chill out a bit. Also it isnt too far from the carpark which is good.

It is a really beautiful setting, and there is booze (beer, bubbly all sorts) on the menu as well for those of you who dont have a massive hangover :). The lunch menu is fabulous, great tuna dish.

RECOMMENDED!!

Does it have a name?
I really like going to Bishan Park, every time we go it is quiet, perhaps not in future then???

Have heard about it from a few people and been meaning to go...was passing there at about 10:30 today and almost stopped but went to Labrador Park instead. Really impressed with the pizza place there

Yes, as I said, it is half outdoor, half indoors. The outdoors part is partially across a little path that people walk their dogs down and so you could easily sit down outside with your dog, the dog traffic is amazing!

What time does it open? The problem with breakfast in Singapore was not the quality of the breakfast but because nowhere was open at 7am.
