Ok, ta. Next question - are they usually sold in jewellery stores? Can't find them in the department or electrical stores.

I really must get into ebay - seems a good way to buy things Down Under.

Just got into eBay myself and it's been great for selling unwanted furniture pre/post move.

Not bought anything through it as yet though.

They sell a liquid cleaner in a pot at DJ's as well, K, - comes with a little dipping basket thing. Drop the goodies in for 30 seconds and then dry off with a cloth.

It's by Heggerty's (sp?) and sells for arouund A$15 per pot.

Here's a link to an ultrasonic cleaner from Jaycar (who have bricks & mortar shops in Syd), and here's a link to a sonic jewelry cleaner from a jewellers which also has shops in Syd. Note that the "sonic" cleaner simply vibrates using a motor and weight to jiggle things around in it and is nowhere near as effective as the ultrasonic gadget which is the real deal.

You can age wine with it as well, by all accounts.

Wow, is it really a year since I asked about these? Well, this week I got one, and from Jaycar too, Bender, so thank you. Just tried it out on a silver bangle and it seems to work.

Cats, however, really do not like the noise.
