Anyone recommend a Notary Public?
I have to get my passport copies signed by a Notary Public for the CPF folks. Can anyone recommend one who's cheap and bonafide? Ta... ![bowdown [smilie=bowdown.gif]](./images/smilies/bowdown.gif)

Embassy is your best bet, about $25 per document. Just had it done.
"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

I used Irene Lim & Associates (1 Sophia Rd, #06-03), 6336-4243 some years ago when I prepared for my Australian PR from Singapore. Good friendly service from what I remember.

Do the Kiwi's have their own embassy or does the Aussie one look after the Kiwis here ?

Thanks Fuzz. I will call her as I am loathed to go to the Aussie embassy unless I need to.Fuzz wrote:I used Irene Lim & Associates (1 Sophia Rd, #06-03), 6336-4243 some years ago when I prepared for my Australian PR from Singapore. Good friendly service from what I remember.

Re: Anyone recommend a Notary Public?
The Aussie Embassy, before 9/11, was fairly laid back and relaxed. Come AFL Grand Final time they'd open up the theatrette and show the Grand Final live (Australia Network didn't show it back then) selling VB at cost (about $2.50 a can) and meat pies.
half time we'd wander out the back and kick a footy around.
Bloody Yanks changed all that.

Thanks Fuzzy - just rang Irene and she's nice. $10 for the first page and $2 for every page after that. Not bad!!Fuzz wrote:I used Irene Lim & Associates (1 Sophia Rd, #06-03), 6336-4243 some years ago when I prepared for my Australian PR from Singapore. Good friendly service from what I remember.

Re: Anyone recommend a Notary Public?
Glad that it works out okay - phew.
I didn't even know whether the building was still around because Kook told me when I was in SG last in January that they were doing heaps of work in the area. I used to live in Sophia Court so I could walk to her office to do the paperwork.

I lived in Bencoolen St for ages and know that area well. It's totally gone ahead now and it's very expensive and very sought after. Close the uni and great location. One of my dear friends lived in Sophia Court.

Re: Anyone recommend a Notary Public?
Found the Registry of Notary Publics online. Quite useful if you don't want to head into town, there's one in Science Park II, West Coast, and cost $10.
A solicitor can do most of what a Notary pPublic can do, but check which documentation you need. The solicitor has to be a member of the local law society or equivalent.
