Talking Cock...?

Post by Bender » 3rd Apr, '09, 12:23

While in Singapore, I'm going to be looking for some of the local movies on DVD and need suggestions on the best places to find them. I know that some of these may not be out on DVD yet. What I'm looking for are (among others):
  • Talking Cock the Movie (really want this, but apparently mostly sold out?);
  • Chicken Rice War (anyone seen this? any good?);
  • The Best Bet;
  • One More Chance;
  • Ah Long Pte Ltd;
  • Money No Enough 2 (I've got #1).
I'll probably be looking at Gramophone Peninsula, Sembawang and a few others. HMV is a last resort, they're just too expen$ive. Ideas? Suggestions?

Also, suggestions for other local movies to see or get on DVD would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Perth was pretty good with an excellent and very intense performance from Lim Kay Tong.

You don't have anything on your list by Eric Khoo or Royston Tan.

Eric Khoo: 12 Storeys, Mee Pok Man, Be With Me, My Magic (may not be on video yet)

Royston Tan: 15, 4:40, and 881.

Actually, the places you mention are where I'd start, in terms of better price.
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

Do you suppose you that the Esplanade library hold these (or maybe even regional libraries)? I know you can borrow movies from there if you are a PR. I was told you can borrow up to 4 movies for 3 weeks or so.

Chicken Rice War was not exceptional. Not horrible either. A Romeo and Juliet story about two feuding hawker center stall owners' kids.
