I am looking for another wire oven rack for our oven. Currently we have one black metal tray thingy and one wire rack, but the black metal tray thingy tends to get too hot and burn things.
Any ideas...? Tried asking at Taka and all I got was a "ah??"
The oven is a Siemens if that helps any....

I have also been considering a second rack, and assumed I have to get one through the manufacturer to make sure it's the right size. Mine is a cheap-o Morries, which explains why I've been procrastinating. I'm imagining nightmare customer service!
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

I think ovens are pretty standard sizes. Hwoever, I suspect you'll not easily find racks in the stores. You could try the local service centre for your oven manufacturer and ask them. They may even have racks from dead ovens hanging around.

Yes please!
Um.... what state is it in having been in your garden?
(I'm not even going to ask why it was in your garden!)

Good job. I don't know why it was in my garden. I'll post some measurements when I get home this evening.

There's a couple of shops that deal with cookware. Sian Huat is one in China Town, then there's a couple in Holland Village on Jln Mera Saga. Take the current one's meaurements and see if there's anything there.
Otherwise you'll have to get one made, should be too difficult, Steel Art used to do the odd thing for us with various metal workings at work, maybe if you google'd them to see if they are still around?

To record this for future reference in case anyone else is looking - I found them on eBay in the UK. They're called "universal adjusting oven racks" - about $30 to get here including postage and they are fabulous! They make a huge difference - we can now cook several things at the same time.
