Looking for Polaroid 600 film

Post by sj23 » 21st Feb, '08, 08:05

Hey folks

I am trying to find Polaroid 600 film in Singapore for less than the ridiculous prices over here in NZ. Any suggestions for where I should tell the Boy to look?

So far I've found a seller on the Australian eBay site selling 2 x 10 packs (ie 20 pics) for AUD31 plus PP. In New Zealand I'm looking at about $75 for 30 pics :o (That's online rather than a camera store). I need about 100 shots in total, so I guess I have to buy 10 x 10 packs??? Anyone who knows any more about this please help!! [smilie=kissing2.gif]

Thanks!!!

 Funnily enough, the seller on Aussie eBay is a HK seller as well.

Thanks Canuck!

Has anyone here bought polaroid film in Singapore though? Maybe eBay is the way to go ....... but surely not?!

Why not give cathay Photo a call. One of the better camera stores in Singapore, they might be able to point you in the right direction.

Aaaages ago, I started a thread lamenting the death of Polaroid film. Cannot find it here, so I'm guessing it was on the previous board and is long gone, a bit like the film.

For those who loved the Polaroid look, it seems that all hope is not lost: the Impossible Project, a group of Polaroid lovers, bought the film factory with all it's equipment and are planning to have film for Polaroid cameras available next year.

There's an article about the Project here. If you're interested in supporting the Project, why not buy one of the t-shirts? They're kinda cool, and you'd be helping to raise awareness of the Project.

For those who love digital, and also want the Polaroid look, there's an application that you might like here.

I buy it quite a lot off eBay - we have 2 Polaroid 600 cameras at work and need film about 3 times a year. It's expensive, but there are not many options. I've never found it in Singapore, and the guys in the US on eBay sell in bulk - there's a very slight "discount" if you do buy a lot at the same time.
Still works out as SG$3 a photo though!
