Thanks. We set off this morning for Paris Silk but the taxi driver didn't know it so we ended up at Audio something at Clarke's Quay. Went into the centre and there was a queue of 100s holding newspaper ads for special deals. We did an about turn and we headed to Coates at Bukit Timah. I love it but can't get used to the friendly, honest service from the staff at places like Coates (too used to UK/Australian "service").

Managed to get our TV and printer (and sorely tempted by a $480 Bosch washing machine to replace the LG fuzzy logic COLD WATER ONLY top loader washing machine in the flat). Will think about that but Mr B's shirts came out really really creased after their first wash and were a real bugger to iron. Can't be good for the clothes.

PS Glad you warned us about Mustafa - IKEA almost gives me panic attacks.

Not sure what you have been buying, but in my experience PS are generally way cheaper than Best Denki's sticker price. Only major exception being my plasma TV. Best denki were in end a bit cheaper, but it took about an hour of bargaining and waiting to get there

I've heard a pretty strong recommendation about PS but have never been there. Have bought a few things from various Best Denki-s but found their shop staff to be a bit thick. But they are usually good for selection. For some electronics I still go to Challenger.
I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book. Groucho Marx

Yep, that's been my experience too. I've bought cameras, iPod, handphone, DVD player, microwave, DSi, TV and all have been less than Best's sticker price - sometimes by a fair amount.

Parisilk hands down every time. Though tend to only get cameras and small electronics there. Plasma TV and sound system was purchased elsewhere.

Starhub is the best option for both an internet connection as well as a landline phone.
