Ummmm, how to put this delicately.......once a child is out of 'the factory' he really can't get back into 'the factory'

I have no children. But none of my nephews or neice even bothers with the crying nonsense with me. They know it doesn't work. Unfortunately their parents give in.

That's because they know all too well that once you have gone home there will be drama and destruction.

A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

Mr G doesnt have kids either and when he is here MsA acts perfectly no tantrums nothing. If she even thinks about it he just says "Dont" and she stops mid breath! I do think that people who dont have kids who do stand up to kids do have some effect on them...
"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

Tell me about it. I was a fantastic mother right up 'till the point the kids arrived.

One thing I've found from having twins is that while I agree broadly with the need for consistency, there is no one technique that will work with any child all the time, and the tantrum that they're throwing because they've been denied something is totally different from the hysteria that ensues when the tantrum gets out of control. On the latter occasions they lose all sense of why they were ever upset in the first place. When they get to that stage, one of mine needs to be taken outside or to a window for fresh air and held until they calm down, the other normally needs to be put in a safe, enclosed space and be left alone for a minute. Then, as Lili says, there are the occasions when one has to be put in a safe, enclosed space to protect him from me. [smilie=23_3.gif]

As for sending them back to the factory, no way. The gates are padlocked.

I tried that once FM. Bought a Mars Bar that was dodgy. Sent it back and complained. Buggers sent me a whole carton as a "I'm sorry please don't give up Mars Bars".. don't know if I'd like that with a toddler.
