Flying with toddlers - an update

Post by Scrummy Mummy » 25th Jun, '09, 13:44

Well we're back (and jet lagged to hell) and can report that flying long haul with a 2.5 year old is in fact easier than flying long haul with a 2 year old. THANK GOD.

Mini was actually very well-behaved. The only problem was that on the return flight there was really bad turbulence resulting in Mini throwing up an entire bottle of milk over me. Because of the turbulence I couldn't leave the seat to clean it up properly and had to manage with a few hot towels and sit soaking wet for ages. And I didn't have a change of clothes anyway. (Tip: Always take a change of clothes as, even if it hasn't happened before, there's always a first time). One chavvy-looking couple across the aisle thought this funny ( ) but the couple behind complimented us on on the way off the plane on how well we'd handled it. Not a lot you can do, really.

chavvy? [smilie=stupido.gif]

a recent trip with Little M to Perth in JetStar cattle class taught us that a 4 hour flight with this particular almost 3 year old is an exercise in patience and endurance next to which the trials of any Triathlon pale in comparison...

it cancels out everything said about his great behaviour on a flight when he was 6 months old. :|

Welcome back!

And I'm very glad to hear that 2.5 is easier than 2. Very glad...

Either way, it's got to be easier than 19-month-old twins. [smilie=23_3.gif]

Now we need to arrange another night out. Soon.

There's hope for us yet. Glad you're back, Scummy! Drinks are high on my priority list.
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.
