Maybe you can have a shirt made that says:
You should see the other guy
You should see the other guy
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

What's wrong with him? Can't see a scratch at all!
Or are you talking that lipstick mark on his nose? Is that it? Quick, more cotton wool required!
There again, face-planting like that will make him prime aussie front row material!

He's adorable Baloo! One could just melt into those beautiful eyes. Other than that, I can understand Crackers panicking. First child and I'm sure he cried his heart out which must have made her feel worse.
Life is comprised of infinite possibilities; some known, others a mystery and destined to remain so. And what of the vast unknown, the realms beyond which knowledge has no established boundaries or parameters? Who is to say what exists or what is possible?

Aw bless him, he's not his usual smiley, twinkly eyes is he? The first of many bumps, I am sure.

damn, little M hasn't managed something like that yet...
he's only had his teeth through his lip and tongue when he fell on the edge of the jacuzzi.
ah well, just a matter of time.

Be careful what you wish for Mr. M....
BFG minor and minorette are 9 and 7 respectively and between them have had visits to emergency for split heads which needed "gluing", 1 broken arm, a deeply cut foot (stitched not glued) and a split lip (stitched too). This on top of non-emergency stuff like fixable cuts, grazes and bruises.
BFG minor is now playing full-contact Rugby, so I guess the best is yet to come....

Oh, poor little button, look at his fat lip.
We managed a broken wrist and fractured skull before the age of three. The doctor asked Sonof to explain to him what happened in case it was me beating him up. I thought that was pretty good.

Re: In The Wars - Part I
Baloo - he's so handsome even with a fat lip. The most fearsome times I had when baby KK was a wee one was that cry where he gasps for air and the look of panic and shock on his face then the cry becomes a wail. I can empathise with Crackers totally - it's darn freaky. Baby's cries are like mobile phone rings - you can hear you own from a zillion paces and race to it when it goes off.
Hope the little nugget is on the mend.

Awww look at that little face!
Have any of you had dental work to chipped/broken teeth? Just wondering what I would do if MsA broke a tooth or badly chipped it, these can be really painful. She has done a couple of face plants but luckily on the grass and just wails for a while - big hugs from mummy needed.

"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

I did. Amazing how calm you get though. Your focus on nothing but the little thing in your arms.Lili Von Shtupp wrote:I think I'd have a heart attack. You poor things - both of you.azzam wrote:We managed a broken wrist and fractured skull before the age of three.
The morning after the fractured skull, he was running up and down the ward and I was in trouble for not keeping him still enough. They are so darned resilient.
edit: the hard floors in Singapore must freak you parents out though? Simply falling off the bed could be a nightmare.

I remember when my sister was 2 years old, she fell off the sofa and broke her front tooth! She had to wait ages to get for her permanent tooth to grow.
I remember my mother and uncle attended to her when it happened. I think they stopped the bleeding with ice cloth and direct pressure to a crying toddler. They brought her to the dentist the next day or maybe the A&E that night - can't remember.

Re: In The Wars - Part I
Slinkette chipped a tooth in the bathtub at about age 18 months (both Mr. S & I were standing next to the tub when it happened, if and when it happens, be warned: it's extremely fast & you won't see it coming!!). Took her to the dentist as the chipped part was pretty sharp & we were afraid of her cutting her lips on it. Dentist smoothed it down but said there is little to no point in trying to cosmetically patch the tooth as baby teeth apparently don't have enough calcium in them for the patching to stick to and they are going to fall out eventually anyway. We were lucky her tooth didn't turn dark though - that was a possibility.Aliya wrote:Awww look at that little face!

Teeth are a whole other can of worms. My proudest moment was when BFG Minor lost one when running into a climbing frame whilst chasing a girl.

Re: In The Wars - Part I
my brother and i never broke anything, but i did manage to knock out one of his front teeth during a pillow fight.
it was more like a pillow brawl, actually.
little M has managed to fall face down off the sofa a few times.
oh, and he did run into a wall, but only the sharp corner of it, so no fat lip and scratches, just a bleeding vertical dent in his forehead that was about 4 mm deep. it made a rather alarming sound and he was knocked back a few feet, but, except for the screeching that was it.
hey, i forgot, it was already a few months ago.
