Feeding toddlers

Post by Bender » 7th Oct, '09, 17:57

Just watched the ABC New Inventors show, and one of the new items was the Belkiz Feedaway. Very clever! It's a folding cardboard baby feeding chair, made for taking on holidays or occasional use. It's light, easy to store and transport, and when you've finished with it the whole thing can be recycled. It's shaping up to be an award-winning product, and with good reason.

I think this is a winner and a possible business idea - maybe worth getting the rights to import it to Singapore?

What an absolutely brilliant idea...I can think of so many times and places I could have used one of these.

I hope that it will never go into mass production. The only result is that you get screaming kids in restaurants which were deemed quiet so far because they wouldn't have baby chairs. Not a popular answer I guess

Sorry. I don't quite get it. Why would you want to feed toddlers? Surely that just encourages them not to do the decent thing by starving to death

Why doesn't someone invent cardboard children and we could recycle them too. Much cheaper.

That looks like it would take some origami skills to put together

Can't see the need to be honest. Doesn't everyone just put a plate of chicken nuggets and fries on the floor and let the toddler eat like a dog ?

Hopeless idea, kids throw water and smear food all over it within a day it would be smeared and horrible and collapsing on itself and fully of yucky things. Well with my kids anyway...

Aliya dear, I think you use it once and then bin. Like disposable nappies.

If it's meant to be a 1 time use thing, then, yes, it's probably a decent idea - so long as it's not too expensive. They should sell it in packs of 5 or something.

Nice to see everyone's had a good look at the links in the original post. From the website: "Feedaway has a non toxic food grade coating to allow food to be spilled and cleaned with a wet cloth." According to the TV spot, it should easily handle a few weeks of 3 x daily use.
