What are they? If I know roughly what I'm looing for I'll keep an eye out on one of my numerous forays to toy shops

Some of the best toy trucks available. They have them at Royce gym at Liang Court but they've got a fairly hefty mark up on the ones they are selling there.

Here's a couple of examples:

Don't recall, but will keep an eye out.

YOu tried ebay (in US/UK)? Even with the shipping here might be cheaper.

Yeah, hoping to have one by Thursday or Friday so I may be forced to give Royce my hard earned. To think I had 9 months to get this toy in but decided to wait until I had 48hours to go.

Have you tried the toy shops in Tanglin Mall and Taka - they have more unusual stuff.

Will have a hunt around tomorrow. Had thought of Taka but Tanglin escaped me. Cheers

How did the visit to the fire station go?
"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

Fire station reminds me.......last weekend there was a cruise liner moored at Vivo City. Its called the Doulos and it's a bookshop that goes around the world (mainly about Christian/spiritual stuff but we picked up some kiddie sticker books). It's free to go on, so if it's still there this week (no idea) little kids might like it. Mini-S certainly did, although nearly gave Daddy a few heart attacks when he climbed up the rails..........

Fire Station was great. The only tears were when we wanted to leave. Playing with the fire hose was the big hit. Well worth it, we'll probably back again next year.

That's good to hear. I was thinking of a fire-themed birthday outing/party for Mini's third birthday in January, maybe a trip there with a few friends followed by a fire-themed birthday lunch*.

Or I guess we could do a trip to a construction site followed by a Bob the Builder party!

* And I don't just mean burnt!

Have they changed the fire station to only once a year?? It used to be every Saturday morning (except public holidays, I'd guess).

Am trying to decide if having girls is more or less exciting on the birthday front than boys :)

Boys more exciting when they are younger. I think girls have more exciting birthdays when they hit 18. At least I'd be excited to get an invite.

Lol. We'll put you on the list of old uncles who want invites to "older birthdays", will start you on 16th birthday parties to ease you into the Big 18 :)

I'm sure your girls would love a nice big truck, doesn't have to be all frills and stupid little dollies to dress in spangly skirts.

OOPS!! The old feminist will out. :-)

LOL - I used to laugh so hard at my feminist, politically active Maori friend who would tear her hair out because all her daughter wanted was to be a little fairy in a pink tutu. And there was NOTHING she could do about it. Arrhahaha!! So glad I had a boy, I'd have been a terrible mother for a girl.

We bought Mini a pram and doll. He treats it as just another vehicle and careens round the house at speed with it!

BoD - hmm...didn't have to face that one. I wonder what I'd have done?

I did have a doll growing up. Just one. I used to dress the cat in her dolly clothes.

I brought my son a pram and doll on the day his baby sister was born. It was so we both had new/similar toys to play with and helped divert the jealousy. He had just turned 2.
I don’t believe it messed with his sexuality but saying that I have yet to meet a girlfriend.

Wolfie was absolutely riveted by an issue of Disney Princess magazine, and walked around the shop with his nose pressed in it, bumping into people, he was so engrossed. He begged me to buy it!

Later at home he perused it very closely, studying every page. Until I realized, he was rating the princesses. Turns out he has the hots for Ariel from the Little Mermaid. I've been informed that she has "boobies."
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.
