Go during a weekday when they first open up. Whole store to yourself to browse and plan all future birthday and christmas presents. Great stuff.

For DIY you can buy chalkboard paint for plywood etc if that helps. Art Friends should have it (Bras Basah seems better than Ngee An imo).
