Well, not so clever in that he got sacked, but can you imagine how boring his day was?

Wonder if the company contracted the China firm as out-sources and sacked any more staff?

they should have promoted him: he got quality software developed on time and within budget by a Chinese company. tell me that is not a great IT project manager.

Then he over budgeted.

according to the articles he never paid more than 50k for the outsourcing, while the company paid him a 'six-figure salary'. i'd say he budgeted quite cleverly...

Personally, yeah, but if he was smarter he would have made more money, had more spare time, and still be employed.

The guy is an amateur.

IT departments have been running this outsourcing scam for years and the business still believe its legit.

I say he opened up his company to a minefield of uncontrolled access. What legal agreements were in place with the outsourcing company to prevent any Intellectual Property going missing? Would the IP be solid if out-sourced in this way? What about other security features?

Whole minefield indeed.
