deja vu.... Haven't we seen that pic before? Or is this a new pic and the dog is stuffed?

EY, if you want to see another picture of my arse, you only have to ask.

Aliya asked about the dog. Twas easier to post again than look through a whole lot of ranting about my shorts to find the previous post.

Lovely dog!
"I really love you" she said. "Is that the champagne talking" he asked. "No" she laughed. "That's me talking to the champagne"

Just off Jalan Sultan, lovely old remains of shophouses, sure to disappear soon...

If they're the houses I'm thinking of, you wouldn't want to buy them. Are they off Beach Road on the way to the Istana? About 8 or so years ago they were gutted by fire. I was interested in the cottage industries they once housed - a stone carver who could craft perfect Chinese, Arabic, English, in traditional tombstones to fit any local cultural or religious requirement. An old iron smith that built ships parts - this part of town used to provide all the spare parts for the Bugis and Arab ships. There's not much of a market for either anymore, but somehow these two shops limped into the new millennium. Maybe the fire was an escape? Either way, they're gone, the shops have been like that for too long, I have no idea what plans they have for them. Maybe open up a museum about all the nautical iron smiths and tombstone carvers that used to operate here? :D

Not much glory, though. The style is very early shophouse, only one window each (very dark), simple columns, squat 2-storey, blah facade. It would take a lot of money and love.
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.

That is them, still they are so beautiful even after almost total destruction.

I'm not sure what they are... but they grow around here. Used to be very popular in people's front gardens many years ago, but not so much now.

Yep Toi-Toi. I spend many happy hours playing with them as a child. I still do when I go homejust for old times sake :) I'm homesick now.
Children aren't colouring books. You don't get to fill them with your favorite colours.

We call them toi toi as well, but I think they are pampas grass elsewhere. I love them. You know they are considered a noxious weed in Oz now...on the banned list, that is why they aren't found in many gardens any more.

Often found in ghastly dried flower arrangements in the seventies.
Toi Toi and Cabbage Trees make me homesick. And stories in the paper about Neil Finn doing up his bach at Piha.
Are the Cabbage Trees still dying off or are they all better now?

p.s. I have a great photo on my phone but I can't get it to download onto my mac :-( Hate this stupid iPhoto thing.
I connect the phone, and iPhoto opens up. If i click on 'import all', it tells me there are two unreadable files. When i click ok, hoping it will carry on to load all the rest it just asks me if I want to delete all the photos on my phone. I say no, and then nothing else happens.

What happens when you connect it to a pc?

Same. I thought I could just plug in and go but I just read this on the net. Obviously it is more complicated than i thought. I am pretty sure I don't have the sd adaptor.

The USB is only for charging the phone. It can not transmit the information because the phone's software is not capable of it. Stupid, I know. The pictures on your phone must be saved to the microSD card in your phone. You can do this by bringing up your pictures folder, selecting options, and selecting transfer to card/external/SD/memory (it varies by carrier) You then remove the card, located underneath the battery, and place it in a SD adapter. (One should have come with the phone) Put the card in your computer and it should auto upload.

edit: Shall i just go and buy a new phone? [smilie=yahoo.gif]

Oh, hang on, the photo will still be on the old phone....
