'Buck-toothed rapist' hunt: man chargedAugust 28, 2008 - 10:04AM

Arrest over sex attacks

Police hunting the so-called "buck-toothed rapist" in western Sydney have charged a 22-year-old Rooty Hill man over a string of sex offences.

They include the sexual and indecent assault of five teenagers, aged 16-19, in Sydney's western suburbs over the past five months.

The charges include three counts of aggravated sexual assault, four counts of aggravated robbery, indecent assault and one count of stalking and intimidation.

The man has also been charged with armed robbery and common assault.

The man allegedly threatened all of the victims with a knife, robbing some.

The first attack occurred on April 18 and the most recent last Friday morning.

The man was arrested by detectives from the Child Protection and Sex Crimes Squad at his Wetherill Park workplace shortly after 9pm and taken to Fairfield police station for questioning.

Police say search warrants are being executed at his Wetherill Park workplace, as well as three homes in Rooty Hill, Doonside and Glendenning.

They also say the arrest was made as a result of exhaustive inquiries by detectives from Strike Force Luxford and forensic tests.

He was refused bail and will appear in Fairfield Local Court today.

This month police mistakenly arrested a Minchinbury man over the rapes after he handed himself in to police when he saw CCTV footage on the news apparently linking him to the attacks.

[smilie=rotflmao.gif] Ya-lah! I also couldn't get past the Rooty Hill thing - what did the rest of the article say?
A woman walked into a pub and asked the barman for a double entendre. So he gave it to her.
