Wouldn't that be very time consuming?

It costs me in both time and lost productivity - then don't open and read them
I don’t but it takes time to delete my way through them

It is annoying, clogs my inbox - use a spam filter
I do (I think) but they change the words etc around.

creates for many additional costs to try and stop it – bullshit
legislation, lost productivity, fraud, increased bandwidth to cope etc

It opens a door into my computer for viruses - see above
Increasingly, e-mail spam is sent via zombie networks

exposes my children to stuff I would rather not have them read - don't let them read your email. If it's their own email, move to an email provider that has better spam filtering.
Does better mean no inappropriate spam? This is the one that bugs me the most! They operate in an unsolicited and indiscriminate way with a total lack of social responsibility. Millions of kids end up with that crap in their inbox.

Spamers are the dregs of society who get rich on others misery - What rot. You might be miserable but they make no money from you.
If there is no money to be made from it then why do they do it?

Ps I always lose when it comes to puters [smilie=kiss.gif]

Ps Baloo, You must be getting soft in your old age as you always hated spammers with a vengeance in the past

I don’t but it takes time to delete my way through them - get a good spam filter to do that for you

I do (I think) but they change the words etc around. - see above

Increasingly, e-mail spam is sent via zombie networks - sure, zimbo networks sends the spam but what has that got to do with penetrating a backdoor on your PC ?

Does better mean no inappropriate spam? This is the one that bugs me the most! They operate in an unsolicited and indiscriminate way with a total lack of social responsibility. Millions of kids end up with that crap in their inbox. - I would confidently say that most kids who might be impacted by spam have gone looking for a lot worse material on the internet. Spam filtering and content filtering is the responsibility of the guardians of the minor.

If there is no money to be made from it then why do they do it? - there is money to be made, sure, but why do you assume they are exploiting the misery of others ?

Ps I always lose when it comes to puters - I fixed that for you

Ps Baloo, You must be getting soft in your old age as you always hated spammers with a vengeance in the past - Spam is now part of life. You won''t get rid of it, you just need to make sure you take appropiate precautions to prevent it from following you around for life. Much like herpes.

Hotmail, surprisingly, has one of the better spam filters.

The filter I use costs US$30 per month. You can always move over to a gmail, hotmail type email service where they have a better spam filtering service.
