IF you are flying through the UK slinky (or are you going direct) you could get some solpadeine - similar to panadiene...

Headache gone since yesterday, but Mr. S realized this morning that he actually has panadiene left over from his knee surgery last month [smilie=rollingpin.gif]

For me Ibuprofen works where Paracetamol or aspirin doesn't. But it takes it's toll on the stomach. I found something here that works better called Arcoxia. That's for 'normal' headaches. I need stronger stuff for the bad ones...

I was wondering about the difference between Tylenol 3 and the others, I usually get (what used to be anyway) over the counter Paracodol from Boots in the UK - a mix of Paracetamol and Codeine for those bad headaches, but I'd rather have the codeine / ibuprofen mix as I don't like Paracetamol.

I don't know if there's a difference between Paracodol and Panadiene.

Wish I didn't need this stuff but I do, otherwise I end up with a headache that lasts for days.

So you can get Panadeine Forte here? And Nurofen Plus?

It's easy to check the ingredients of most drugs by looking on the bottle, package or drug information sheet. Paracodol and panadiene have the same active ingredients (though other ingredients and whether it's got a nice coating or not)

Surprised the doc is willing to give you arcoxia, you must have really serious headaches.

It would be nice to be able to check the package/info sheet etc, but I always found that in Singapore you never got them. I had to ask for the info when I got some new meds for my son and the pharmacist looked at me and didn't like having to give it to me which I thought was ridiculous.

I was given Arcoxia by a specialist at Mount E (either the rheumatism man or the surgeon that did my wrist, can't recall) - am with Bob, surprised you'd be given it for headaches.

You're right, PP, I always found that odd. I'd get home and straight on the net for a fact sheet.

Right and in my case, I don't have those sheets or bottles, only the plastic tabs the meds come in. The stuff I got from Boots was long ago, don't think I have any more of those.

I do in fact get bad headaches, but I have only used Arcoxia for 'normal' headaches - It felt more like an ibuprofen substitute, which is how the doc explained it to me. I didn't know this was a stronger med.

Having said that, for the super headaches, where the codeine mix doesn't work, he's given me 1 Arcoxia + 4 Prednisolone as a cocktail, which so far I have not had to use. Yet.

I only got Prednisolone for sore throats before that.

Next time, Slinks, some pharmacies (Guardian?) link to a pharmacist by web cam so they can dispense via web cam.

Its a pain in the butt that you need a pharmacist for ibuprofen.... everytime I got to a Dr - i ask for synflex - a similar concoction that is great for bad headaches.
