No problem for me, I deal with it head on.

Where I don't do that however are with the two ladies on either side of me who insist on clipping their nails in the office.

we don't have that problem: when you put your phone on speaker, the mute function switches on automatically so you can't speak while on speaker.

there are several sound proof 'phone booth' rooms on every floor for those who like to have screaming matches over the speaker.

strange, I can appreciate a good knuckle or back crack. is it a constant cracking thing?

I worked with a guy who had a habit of strolling around the office while talking loudly into his mobile phone. I simply told him it was unnecessary, very distracting and a nuisance to all of us. Habit stopped.
