That was painful to read, Tas. I don't know where you are at the moment, but is it too early for happy hour?

Tas: been there done that,, very similar situation, I sent a mail about how this person needed some guidance because their stuff was just not right and then proceeded to mail it to them directly, doh!, they replied fairly curtly they would do as requested.. I ate some crow apologised . One can only hope that they are the type that can get over it... hang in there
, just be up front, if they reply tell them you were feeling very frustrated and why and then use it as a way to get a better working relationship, tell them more communication would be better so that you know when to expect things...

thanks Canuck, fortunately for me, or unfortunately for you, I hadn't gone into that level of detail, (it was a couple of lines and could be considered open to interpretation). That is definitely a painful scenario. I agree always take it on the chin when we do this stuff, and work forward - you're right to can bring something to the surface to deal with.

Reminds me of the time I was waiting for my boss to turn up, I sent Q an SMS saying "This is ridicuous I've been waiting over an hour" Only problem is that I sent it to my boss by accident. Once I realised I sent another message saying "Sorry, that wasn't meant for you, but it's still ridiculous"

So was it effective? Did he still keep you waiting in future?
