Don't know about ticks. Unless you include chin-picking. But having seen roaches in cabs, I'll take their front-seat ticks over back-seat cockroaches any day.

So here's one for the files:

Last night, was picked up at the airport. I had 2 bags - one carry, one on wheels. Cabbie is standing at the back of the cab with open boot. Is still standing there watching me load my bag into his cab. Tip has now been decided.

Mrs. S arrives shortly afterwards, he does make some effort to help her with her bag.

On the way, told him the condo name and that it was the next left, which he acknowledged. Then sailed past.

After paying the fare, the boot went open, he stayed in his seat.

Until we finished unloading our bags, when he had to get out to close the boot. Fckwit.

Try staying "Stop right here!" if you want to set a taxi driver off.

You need to look into the Kia Katpoo deal, Canuck [smilie=rotflmao.gif]

Have I ever told you about some of the SMS messages I get from Mr. S when he's on his way home in a stinky taxi? He'll send things like: 'Please tell the kids that dad doesn't normally smell like shit, he's just been in a stinky taxi' (happens probably once a month or so :o )

No, the fun part is, they don't know whether you want them to stop or turn right.

Then there is the fine art of getting forward motion before the debate about where to go.

The alternative being the pregnant pause between when the destination is requested and the cogs necessary to compute the question and response, often while the taxi sits dangerously in cross-street traffic or the traffic lights are changing.

Managed to barter one today. He fucked up at least 3 times, didn't know how to get from when I was to anywhere close to where I wanted. Half price.

I did get dropped off around the corner though, no letting anyone with a possible grudge drop me off outside.

I think I've taken half a dozen taxi rides in the last 51 weeks. I miss the uncles, smelly cabs and all.
