Just started watching Enlightened, starring Laura Dern, after a few episodes not sure if I like it or not, it has an anxious quality to it. The series was just cancelled after its 2nd season.
I find television very educating. Every time somebody turns on the set, I go into the other room and read a book. Groucho Marx

Just started in BBC is The Village. A kind of anti-Downton Abbey set in Yorkshire starting in 1914 (so predictably the first episode ends up with with young men marching cheerily off to war). The main family of impoverished farmers are called Middleton, but I am sure nobody will read anything into that

Was thinking this post was about 18mths old, just checked first page, 5years!!
And only just got round to Deadwood. What a bloody good series. Had to check, and yep, the guy playing Al Serangen did get awarded.fantastic writing and acting

Superior numbers / weapons doesn't ensure victory. They were outwitted and panicked. Remember they're mostly civilians. The prison defence had tactics. Most of the season has been building up to this final confrontation and i think it was awesome. The govenor couldn't let go, had to have his revenge. With over confidence he attacks the prison with no idea what he's in for. His pathetic army are outwitted, panic and head for the hills. Revealing his true insanity, he kills them all in a fit of rage. Victory to the good guys! Suck it Governor. [smilie=yahoo.gif]
It doesn't always have to be about zombie killing.

Standard army doctrine when attacking defensive positions is to have at least 3 times the number of people. Throw a bit of surprise in there (the attacker thought the prison was empty and then bang-a-rama) and you really can fight off a superior force, especially one that is not well trained.
And yes, the best zombie movies are the ones where the survivors become the horror story.

Hannibal is excellent. Not for the faint hearted though.
Arrow is pretty decent, if you like superhero shows.
Vikings pilot was pretty good. Haven't had a chance to watch more yet so undecided on the series.

Thanks for the tip, Hannibal and Vikings sound interesting.
Already watching Arrow regularly, but the flashbacks are starting to turn me off.

Hooked on Vikings! Didn't recognize Travis Fimmel in that getup, he looks nothing like his usual pretty boy persona.

The Voice UK, US, and AU have been back for a few weeks now. The best so far is the US version, a lot more engaging and early favorite Judith Hill sounds amazing. AU version has some amazing talents too, but new coach Ricky Martin is so darn annoying with his majorly toothy grins and faux "lost in the song" expressions.

If you think The Voice AU is terrible, watch 10 minutes of The Voice UK... I only watch the contestants sing, the coaches' banter and comments are just so painful. The hosts are just redundant.
